Des Moines Criminal Defense Attorney
Attorney Benjamin Feld is a native of Carroll, Iowa. As a young man, he helped his dad, Larry, with various chores around the farm including feeding livestock, baling hay, and detasseling corn. His dad taught him the meaning of hard work early on in life and how to do things on his own. His mom, Judy, taught him the importance of getting along with everyone, no matter their deficiencies or disabilities. His parents raised him to build relationships with people from all walks of life, which has helped him immensely in his legal career.
Now a little about Attorney Feld’s background: He graduated from Carroll Kuemper High School. After graduating from high school, he received his bachelor’s degree from Drake University in business management with a concentration in business law. While attending Drake, he started his own private investigation business, called Bulldog Investigations, where he gained valuable experience in the areas of criminal law and family law, including child custody and infidelity issues. Additionally, he performed countless surveillance and undercover investigations for his clients ranging anywhere from criminal mischief to homicide. He absolutely loved running his own business and being a private investigator; but ever since high school, he had always planned on attending law school. Shortly after graduation, he dissolved his investigation business and moved to Michigan to attend law school.
While attending law school, Attorney Feld worked in the Consumer Protection Division of the Michigan Attorney General Office. At the Michigan Attorney General, he worked with the assistant attorney general to combat against human trafficking within the state. After working a little over a year at the Michigan Attorney General Office, he took a job with the Sinas Dramis Law Firm in Lansing, Michigan. At this law firm, he had the opportunity to learn from some of the top attorneys across the state who have been involved in some well-known cases across the nation, including the Pan Am Flight 103 bombing, the Kent State Massacre, and representation of the gymnast in the Larry Nassar sexual assault case. While there, he learned a combination of many legal strategies and tactics used at trial. Most importantly, he learned how to successfully help and treat clients during their stressful situation. Another benefit of working at this firm was that he got to volunteer at the firm’s “Heads up for Safety” events, which help prevent brain injury to children throughout the community. While at the Sinas Dramis Law Firm, he gained invaluable skills and training in the areas of personal injury and criminal law. Overall, he had a great experience in Michigan and met a lot of great people, but after living there for three years, he realized Iowa is his home.
Attorney Feld graduated cum laude from Michigan State College of Law and shortly after returned to Iowa to be closer to his family. In his free time, he likes to go to the gym, golf, and go to the lake. He is also a huge Michigan State Spartans fan and does his best to never miss a game. He also enjoys spending time with his nieces and nephew: Alexa, Hanna, Emma, Malea, Kysa and Carter, and giving his foster brother, John, a hard time about Notre Dame Football.
Attorney Feld has represented and helped hundreds of clients (some repeat clients) in a wide array of legal situations throughout Iowa in both felony and misdemeanor charges. He has had many cases dismissed and has won many of his clients’ jury trials. He has achieved favorable results for the vast majority of his clients. Attorney Feld strives to obtain results beyond his clients’ expectations and make the situation as easy and as stress-free as possible for them.
